So far today has been very unproductive, but I know that by the end of today I will have gotten a lot done. Not because I want to get a lot done but because I have no choice. The last week has been a strange sort of hell week meets week of awesomeness as things came together in wonderful ways but also ended up being incredibly exhausting. There were also loads of unexpected (and pretty predictably happenings). I will try to communicate everything that has happened in an abbreviated manner but I am really not sure if I am capable of it.
First I will start with the meeting. I will not say that it went off without a hitched but I will say that it was probably the best things that I have ever coordinated in my life. Our keynote speaker actually arrived early thanks to Greg allowing him to get a taxi. Enough! pulled out of our meeting 2 hours before they were suppose to show up which resulted in some really nasty e-mails being exchanged. Its unfortunate because I really don’t think Enough! meant to “sabotage” our meeting like Greg does, but I am pretty sure after they e-mail that they got from Greg because they didn’t show up they might never really want to work with us again.
On Friday, I spent my morning doing last minute skype connections, making coffee and giving directions to some people who drove 2 hours with there 3 small children just to attend out meeting because they had received word on money that 9 people from their family had been killed in the ongoing genocide in the Nuba Mountains. Cameron brought some awesome food to the meeting that helped set a productive mood and a lot of our other partners. There is a livestream video of the meeting that I will try to post later today, the first 20 minutes is just of me walking around the room looking confused though. Greg told me I should start the video stream 20 minutes before the meeting started because he wanted to make sure that it worked. He does not trust technology.
