Stumbling Study Aid.

If anything makes me “want ” to study this might be it….or Boards of Canada. When I’m President a lot more studying is going to have to go down because I’m 99% sure 100% of current Congress men have zero idea what they are talking about….and horrible taste in music.

When I President…this will be my first order of bussiness. I know Obama said the same thing but I am a lot cooler than him.

As of today, Friday the 18th of November, I am please to announce my candidacy for President of these United States. I will be turning my personal Twitter and my Tumblr over to this valiant effort to fight for true representative for the people of these United States. If you find yourself perusing thought my old “Pre-Presidential” posts, I think that you will find that I am exactly the type of lady you want as your Commander and Chief. A really cool video, campaign platform and lots and lots of photos of me kissing babies and giving the peace sign will be available shortly.

“I drink coffee like water and I still never know what to say. I still don’t know how to get out of bed half the time. It’s not pretty or endearing. I whisper you secrets, I am still looking to be saved. Sometimes I am so weak, sometimes I am so strong, here you go, I’ll give you everything for one more chance. My heart is ugly, but it could be all yours.”

Today was a very interesting day and by today I am actually referring to the day that ended 12 minutes before I started writing this; so to be accurate Thursday the 7th was a very interesting day. It started with me packing and as I packed up all my stuff at 7:30 in the morning the reality of the next couple of weeks began to hit me. I am going to be house sitting for my boss until the 23rd of July. He’s paying me $100 a day and he is also giving me his car, and his credit cards to pay for gas, food and whatever else I might need during this time period. He also gave me $200 of “just in case money” Sounds pretty awesome, right? Here is the catch; by “house sitting” what he actually means is managing his house and taking care of his 30 year old daughter Tana…who is addicted to crack and a lot of other stuff…but mostly crack.

Before I make this whole thing out to be waaay too dramatic I do want to say for the record that she is a nice person. But I also have to say that I might have underestimated the gravity of the situation until I realized that it is now 12:30 at night and that my wallet is hidden between my mattresses and I am in a locked room, and I had to lock EVERYTHING up in the house and I also had to lock the house from the inside so she cannot get out. I also had to spend a significant amount of time today re-bandaging her arms because after she ran away last week she broke the glass out of a window to break back into the house and she cut her arms up with he B&E effort. Oh yeah? Did I mention that she has been missing for the last week because she has been RELAPSING and only came home last night? Great time. And yes if you were wondering I knew she had a drug problem before I agreed to babysit but when I agreed to take the job she was in an intensive outpatient rehab program and it was pre-running away and then breaking back into the house.

The More You Know...

My friend Matt has the amazing ability to find thing online that really bring to light the true depth and usefulness of the internet. He sent me this little map that he found earlier today. I really don’t even know who would take this time make this map and I still am not sure how Matt found it. When he passed it on to me his response to my shock was, “The more you know…” and I think that the most fitting end to that sentence is, “the less time you spend in jail.”

I should have known yesterday went I came home and went to bed at 4pm that I was going to be sick today. I woke up at 2am with a fever and just felt awful. I tried to go into work today but I got on the metro and the movement just made everything way worst.  My boss is being cool about it but he is also not in the office today and we have another big meeting tomorrow that I am supposed to be setting up for. On top of it I have night class tonight. I am just going to crawl back in bed for a while and hope I feel better when I wake up. I think the culprit behind being sick is probably sitting outside for the Capitol 4th concert on Monday. It was raining on and off and it was kind of chilly. Oh well, as long as I don’t get too behind in my work the concert was worth getting sick for.

So far today has been very unproductive, but I know that by the end of today I will have gotten a lot done. Not because I want to get a lot done but because I have no choice. The last week has been a strange sort of hell week meets week of awesomeness as things came together in wonderful ways but also ended up being incredibly exhausting. There were also loads of unexpected (and pretty predictably happenings). I will try to communicate everything that has happened in an abbreviated manner but I am really not sure if I am capable of it.

First I will start with the meeting. I will not say that it went off without a hitched but I will say that it was probably the best things that I have ever coordinated in my life. Our keynote speaker actually arrived early thanks to Greg allowing him to get a taxi. Enough! pulled out of our meeting 2 hours before they were suppose to show up which resulted in some really nasty e-mails being exchanged. Its unfortunate because I really don’t think Enough! meant to “sabotage” our meeting like Greg does, but I am pretty sure after they e-mail that they got from Greg because they didn’t show up they might never really want to work with us again.

On Friday, I spent my morning doing last minute skype connections, making coffee and giving directions to some people who drove 2 hours with there 3 small children just to attend out meeting because they had received word on money that 9 people from their family had been killed in the ongoing genocide in the Nuba Mountains. Cameron brought some awesome food to the meeting that helped set a productive mood and a lot of our other partners. There is a livestream video of the meeting that I will try to post later today, the first 20 minutes is just of me walking around the room looking confused though. Greg told me I should start the video stream 20 minutes before the meeting started because he wanted to make sure that it worked. He does not trust technology.
